Pašticada

Sink beef ham (frikando') in light vinegar and leave overnight. Pak meat with carrot, streaked bacon ad garlic and fry on oil. Slice meat on several pieces and put in a pot in which for the previous twenty minutes grated carrot, onion and garlic was braising; add oil. All pour with home-made red wine and sherry; add celery and parsley, grated apples, a tea spoon of sweet paprika, cloves and nutmeg and cook on a light fire for at least two hours. Meat carve on finger-thick slices, return to sauce previously ran through a strainer, add a spoon-full of Vegeta and cook some more. Serve with macaroni or gnocchi.
Ingredients (for 6 persons): 1,2 kg of meet, 2 onions, 5 carrots, 15 dkg of streaked bacon, 3 cloves of garlic, celery and parsley root, 3 cloves, ¼ nutmeg, 2 apples, a tea spoon of sweet paprika, a glass of sherry, 1 l of red wine, salt, pepper, a spoon of Vegeta.
